“ We finally visited Shyndigz after they revamped into this new space. It's nothing short of ADORABLE and a great meeting/date/casual spot to grab delicious desserts and cocktails! We had a slice of the peanut butter bar and the key lime pie. OMG, so delicious. Cannot wait to go back! ”

“ I Finally made it here!!!! 10-8-24 ever since my sister brought me THEE HUGEST cake slice I've been craving like a fiend for the cake itself didn't matter the flavor. Apparently there's 2 buildings of the same name ONE They bake & make the cakes look delicious (where all the plants are video ) and Across the street is the Market 2 Go & Cafe the other you actually go into and Buy your cake!. The customer service was nice and helpful because sooo many options to choose from!!.. it's a vibe!! They have Erykah Badu playing, it's To-Go fridges filled with all different cakes, you can purchase a lot of souvenirs, Ingredients to make some of their items at home. You can get sandwiches or sit and eat your food! . It give a little Hippie Vibe but it's very cute!!! I looove the decor it's so welcoming. The Cake displays are irresistible don't come in here if you're on a diet! Because everything is made in house even the oatmeal cream pies!!! (Hints I gotta return), soo needless to say I got Fat! & ordered several slices to feed my freezer!! lol. I was told some flavors are once a month . YOU READY drumroll please!! I got the Salted Chocolate Caramel , 2 Spotted Cows, 1 Gluten-Free Red Velvet Oreo, Belle Isle Pecan Ginger (they use ginger Snap cookies)!! And I had 1 Reese's Cup but put it back to get my aunt in a nursing home a slice!! Now I regret not getting it!! It's one of those once a month flavors!. Why does this place have to be 4 hours away!! Ughhh... I'm excited to try the Salted chocolate & red velvet Oreo I'm not a big red velvet fan but I made one exception maybe this could be my 2nd and it had Oreos in it!!...The cakes are sooo super moist without being too wet and inedible! It's like Perfection all the way through!!... I put my cake in the freezer!! Which the guy said they are perfect for freezing. Chileee Liiiisten without a doubt or hesitation I'd come back here!! Iiiif it wasn't 4 hours away I'd be buying FULL WHOLE cakes from here you hear Me!! also they have slices then they have HUGE Slices I was shown the huge one for my birthday my sister got me so I thought that's all they gave you! But nope!! A 3 layered slice is 6.99 a possible 6-7 layered HUGE slice is 11.99 my sister truly loves me because that slice alone is the Itis immediately or like the boy eating that chocolate cake in Matilda!! Crazy full .. ”

“ Shyndigz has moved to a new location, which is across the street and a block over from where it used to be. Their bakery is nearby, but it is not something you can walk into. The market and cafe is where you go if you actually want to buy something. And trust me, you want to buy something. A majestic display greets the viewer. While desserts are indulgent and full of ingredients that bust up some people's diets, this place had a small selection of vegan and gluten-free options that did not look like things you'd regret ordering. I got a peanut butter pie which had a chocolate layer and a graham cracker crust. I wish I'd split it up into multiple sittings because it was so indulgent, but somehow I stuffed it down. Someone ahead of me was trying to order something that this place was out of and was redirected towards their chocolate caramel cake. Given that I still remember eating that cake during the peak of the COVID era some four years ago, I really would not second guess the opportunity to order a slice. ”

“ I love the new location of the market. It is huge and full of so many goodies. They have cases upon cases of cake and goodies. They have a convenient parking lot which is really nice to have in carytown. Staff is always wonderful and all of the desserts are delicious. I love when they have cake parfaits. The decor is fabulous and makes it a fun shop even for those who aren't dessert fans (which is incorrect lol). ”

“ I've been going to Shyndigz for the last 10 years and it's been mostly consistent throughout. It's one of the go-to places in Richmond for dessert. They have all kinds of desserts sure to satisfy everyone's cravings. They are well known for their colossal-sized cake slices, although to my surprise/recent discovery, they now over half sizes. The market moved to a much larger location just across from the original Shyndigz location, which includes a sufficient parking lot. They still have lots of gifts, trinkets, and market food items. There is some seating inside. They also have a little trailer inside to order coffee. They post a monthly calendar on their social media sites for their daily/weekly cake specials. They have gluten free options as well. The desserts are a bit pricey but they're worth it when you need a pick-me-up. The one thing I wish they would improve is the fresh fruit cake. In earlier years, they used to spread the fruit filling throughout the entire cake layer and it is now centered towards the middle. It's still delicious and one of my favorites but it was better. ”

“ The new Shingade market has opened across or catty corner from its old location next to fancy biscuit. The biggest improvement is now there's a coffee bar and places to eat your desserts inside in the heat and a cozy location. You can also has a really cool back room window where you can see them decorating the cakes, it's a very spacious location with a lot of cool shopping with a lot of Richmond items! ”

“ Undoubtedly, Shyndigz is one of my favorite dessert spots ever! The cake slices are huge and the quality is excellent. You can always grab a slice of their Fresh Fruit Cake, Spotted Cow Cake, Salted Caramel Cake and their Cake Du Jour that is new each day. They also provide a vegan buddy cake, gluten free options, and carrot cake as an option each Wednesday. If you're not a cake fan, they have plenty of delicious pies with rotating flavors as well as touch notch cookies, brownies, Rice Krispies, and chocolate covered sweets. There are also some savory options in the cooler section, like premade charcuterie boards, soups, dips, salads, and more. If you want a grab and bake option, there are frozen biscuits, cookie dough, and cake mix available. Plus, the market is such a cute place! They have so many adorable gifts and nicknacks in the front of the store for anyone who is need of a souvenir or present. There's a tent and tables around back and front so you can enjoy your treats in the fresh air. ”

“ I've been a fan of Shyndigz for years, even in the Patterson days. The Shyndigz [Red] Velvet is one of my favorite cake flavors. Their version is what made me start liking red velvet. It's convenient that you can now order a full or half slice, but go big or why bother. The half slice is basically a slice from their short cake if you've ever purchased a whole one. I tend to prefer their chocolate-based cakes over the vanilla-based ones because the latter can tend to be a bit dry (with the exception of the flavors soaked in juice such as the Fresh Fruit cake or the Strawberry Lemon, even though the cake starts to get dry as you eat towards the outer layer where the cake didn't get a chance to soak up any juice). Also, I love their oatmeal cream pies (which include toffee pieces ) so I usually get those as a "side dessert." They have a cute market on the inside with miscellaneous trinkets and quality gifts along with cold pre-packaged foods (e.g., ham sliders, pasta salads, pimento cheese, etc.), along with soft drinks, beer, wine, and cider. Other items for sale are flavored syrups, pet accessories, candles, nuts, and much more. There is no seating inside, but it is technically a "to-go" market, so it's generous of them to have so much outdoor seating. I'll continue to be a fan of Shyndigz as long as they continue with the Shyndigz staples. ”

“ Shyndigz is literally top tier - if you haven't been, you're definitely missing out. I went to college in Richmond and I was a regular here! They release their cake calendar at the beginning of the month and they have a rotating gluten free cake and pie each week - so I definitely recommend checking out that calendar before going! The cake slices are HUGE and so delicious!! They have tons of desserts, but my favorite has always been the cakes. This week the gluten free cake was the oreo cake, and it did not disappoint! On Thursday's, they sometimes have cake deals & this week it was if you buy a slice of the fruit cake you get a free slice of blackberry lime - so we had to do that! Their fruit cake is simply the best. If you love lime/ citrus in your desserts, the blackberry lime is a MUST! I don't personally love lime but that cake was delicious. The service is always amazing, and I just went to the 2go market because the restaurant is currently under renovation. They do have a tent set up that is heated and very cute inside, and it's warm! Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been! ”
